The PokerStars North American Poker Tour Las Vegas continued at Resorts World in Las Vegas with Day 2 of the $10,300 Super High Roller running alongside other events, including the $5,300 NAPT Main Event and the $550 NAPT Cup.
With registration open until the start of play in the $10,300 Super High Roller, the 138-entrant field grew to 170 entrants as the likes of Chance Kornuth, Calvin Anderson, Daniel Sepiol, Andrew Lichtenberger, Andrew Moreno, David Peters, Nick Schulman, and Victoria Livschitz, were among the Day 2 late entrants. The 170-entrant field created a prize pool of $1,649,000 that paid the top 23 players a guaranteed $19,150, while all eyes would be on the $385,750 first-place prize, 386 PGT points, and the NAPT Las Vegas spade trophy.
It would take until just prior to the final break of the night for the bubble to burst when Martin Raus was all-in with pocket nines against the ace-jack of Brian Altman. Altman hit a jack on the flop, and Raus was eliminated on the money bubble in 24th place. The final two levels of play would see Justin Vaysman, Daniel Sepiol, Wagner Wysotchanski, Lily Kiletto, Martin Zamani, Jack Hardcastle, Tauan Naves, Scott Seiver, Rodger Johnson, and Alejandro Lococo all eliminated in the money as 13 players advanced to Day 3.
Sam Soverel finished as the overall chip leader with 1,630,000 in chips, and if he can parlay his chip stack into a top two finish, he will reenter the top 40 on the PGT leaderboard ahead of Isaac Haxton, Sergio Aido, Matthew Wantman, and Ren Lin. Nicholas Seward finished second on the leaderboard with 1,000,000 in chips, and a victory can thrust him into the top 80 on the PGT leaderboard. David Stamm is third overall with 775,000 in chips, and with a win, he will now be in the top 40 on the PGT leaderboard.
Other players still in contention include Jon Kyte (715,000), Brian Altman (675,000), Danny Wong (435,000), and David Coleman (360,000). Players are guaranteed $33,450 and 33 PGT points, but all eyes are on the $385,750 first-place prize, and one of the final spade trophies from NAPT Las Vegas.
