This isn’t the first time the Super High Roller Bowl has been outside the mainland United States, of course. Back in March, the Super High Roller Bowl left Vegas for the first time in its history as Justin Bonomo won the Macau-based event.
In doing so, Bonomo won $4.8 million after he took down a stacked final table that featured players such as Britain’s number one tournament player, Stephen Chidwick (6th) and all-time money list leader Bryn Kenney (6th). It was Patrik Antonius that Bonomo managed to defeat heads-up.
When the Super High Roller Bowl returned to Vegas, it would be Bonomo who again triumphed. Here’s what happened when the players took to the felt in last year’s Super High Roller Bowl in Las Vegas:
Place | Player | Prize |
1 | Justin Bonomo | $5,000,000 |
2 | Daniel Negreanu | $3,000,000 |
3 | Jason Koon | $2,100,000 |
4 | Mikita Badziakouski | $1,600,000 |
5 | Christoph Vogelsang | $1,200,000 |
6 | Nick Petrangelo | $900,000 |
Later that year, Super High Roller Bowl V was hosted at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas where Isaac Haxton recorded his biggest score. The payouts in this 36-player field were as follows.
Place | Player | Prize |
1st | Isaac Haxton | $3,672,000 |
2nd | Alex Foxen | $2,160,000 |
3rd | Stephen Chidwick | $1,512,000 |
4th | Talal Shakerchi | $1,188,000 |
5th | Adrian Mateos | $972,000 |
6th | Igor Kurganov | $756,000 |
7th | Ali Imsirovic | $540,000 |
When the SHRB visited London in September 2019, however, Bonomo was nowhere to be seen. While Sam Soverel had won the British Poker Open, it would be Cary Katz who took down the Super High Roller Bowl, beating Ali Imsirovic heads up to earn the top prize of £2.1 million. Watch that entire final table right here on PokerGO.
