Drew Amato has been covering the World Series of Poker since 2014. This year he’s covered the U.S. Poker Open and Super High Roller Bowl for Poker Central. During the 2018 Poker Masters, Amato will share his favorite images and storylines in a daily article.

The 2018 Poker Masters wrapped up on Saturday night with the final table of the $100,000 Main Event. After one of the toughest three-handed battles of the year, it was David Peters who came out on top to jump into tenth-place on poker’s all-time money list by adding another$1,150,000 to his impressive list of results. Falling just 10 points shy of winning the Purple Jacket, Peters also won two events in one week just as Ali Imsirovic. Here’s a photo recap of the final table.

It was a great showing at the 2018 Poker Masters for Koray Aldemir. Aldemir, who has nearly $10 Million in career earnings, finished 2nd in the $50k No Limit event for over $500,000. How do you follow up such a solid result? Aldemir went on to make back-to-back final tables, finishing 3rd in the Main for a cool $400,000.

After a crazy three-handed battle, Dan Smith and David Peters came into heads up play with nearly identical stacks. Smith has already had quite the year for himself, as he's coming off his best career score, where he finished 3rd in the $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop for $4,000,000. The two would exchange the chip lead a few times before Smith eventually found himself all in, in great shape to double as he held ace-seven to the king-seven of Peters. Unfortunately for Smith, Peters would turn a king and eliminate Smith in 2nd, good for $700,000.
