Winning the World Series of Poker Main Event is the dream for every poker player. And in 2015, a kid from Pennsylvania navigated his way through a 6,420-player field to capture the coveted WSOP bracelet and $7,683,346 first-place prize.

That kid was Joe McKeehen who had already amassed just shy of $2 million in lifetime tournament earnings before winning the big one in 2015.

It wasn’t McKeehen’s first time under the bright lights of a WSOP final table, because in the previous year he finished runner-up to Hugo Pingray in the $1,500 Monster Stack for $820,863. It was winning the 2015 WSOP Main Event that sent his poker career on a completely different trajectory as he now sits with over $16.65 million in live tournament earnings – which puts him 39th on the All Time Money List.

Although McKeehen will always be remembered for his 2015 WSOP Main Event victory, he has since added two more WSOP bracelets after winning the 2017 WSOP Limit Hold’em Championship and the 2020 WSOP Online High Roller.
