The 54th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) saw a third day of dramatic action in Las Vegas as a series-high seven events took place at Horseshoe and Paris casinos. With a new bracelet winner conquering Chance Kornuth in the $25,000 High Roller live on PokerGO, there was more action than ever for poker fans in Sin City and around the world.
The $25,000 High Roller Event #2 saw a thrilling conclusion as Swiss player Alexandre Vuilleumier beat Chance Kornuth heads-up to take the latest WSOP bracelet. All the action took place live on PokerGO as the first event of the summer played out on screen for fans across the globe.
When the final table of six players was reached, Chance Kornuth held the lead as he pursued what would have been his fourth WSOP title. Vuilleumier sat fourth in chips of the six, but after taking out Joey Weissman when the short stacked American’s pocket kings lost to Vuilleumier’s jack-three, the Swiss player was Kornuth’s closest rival.
Kornuth took out Ren Lin, before Sean Winter, who had doubled back from just over one big blind, eliminated the overnight leader, Frenchman Axel Hallay. Vuilleumier took control three-handed, busting Winter to go into the heads-up with a lead of 19.8 million chips to Kornuth 11.3 million. In the end, Kornuth went with king-three and ran into Vuilleumier’s ace-queen, which made a straight on the turn. Kornuth was left with the runner-up prize of $751,463, while Vuilleumier won his first career bracelet and $1.2 million.

Shaun David Top of the Shop in Mystery Million Day 1b Counts
It was an even bigger field on Day 1b than the previous flight as the Mystery Million event, which costs $1,000 to play and is third on the schedule, concluded with 2,957 entries. That brought the overall field up to 4,980 across both the first two flights and after 22 pulsating levels of poker, only 146 players remained.
Shaun Davis (2,475,000) led the way from other ‘double milly’ stackers Tal Avivi (2,380,000) and Joseph Dornish (2,250,000), but some very big names hover close by. The 2014 world champion Martin Jacobson (1,180,000) German footballer Max Kruse (1,560,000) and Ankush Mandavia (1,000,000) will all be hoping to pull that million-dollar bounty out of the drum when Day 2 resumes.

Wilson Leads Tournament of Champions into Final Day Drama
The freeroll event that everyone wants to win is Event #4, and the 2023 Tournament of Champions has just 31 players still in the hunt for the WSOP bracelet and $200,000 top prize. Of the remaining field, only Jason Somerville (405,000 chips) is a former bracelet winner, but the popular poker streamer will start some way behind the chip leader in 24th place of the 31 players.
Top of the leaderboard is Scott Wilson, whose stack of 2,885,000 looks down on the rest from some distance, with Brent Gregory (2,000,000) the only other player to crack two million chips. Dakota Britton (1,400,000) and Vincent Moscati (1,120,000) are the only other players to bag a seven-figure stack of chips overnight.
You’ll be able to watch the final table play out in all its glory exclusively on PokerGO right here when Event #4 stars on Day 4 of the 2023 WSOP .

Kelsall Leading the Last 11 in Dealer’s Choice
The final 11 players of the Dealer’s Choice Event #5 have been reached and it is the American player Andrew Kelsall who sits proudest with 1,950,000 chips. That’s some way clear of Clayton Mozdzen (1,555,000) in second place, but there are some superstars of the felt lining up to jump on any mistakes. Former bracelet winners Chad Eveslage (1,095,000) and John Racener (565,000) will both have eyes on the $131,879 top prize as the final day looms.
The penultimate day of this event saw several Fantasy Draft picks make their way from the table to the rail. Phil Hellmuth busted in 20th place for $5,073 as The Poker Brat fell short of his 17th – and record-extending - bracelet after a great run to the top 5% of the field. Brazilian former online world number one Yuri Dzivielevski (49th for $2,825) also bowed out short of the last day.
