WSOP Announces 2018 Schedule with 78 Gold Bracelet Events

We might be moving through winter, but the poker world is already looking ahead to the summer. The World Series of Poker unveiled their event schedule for the 2018 series, featuring a comprehensive slate of the game’s most popular variants.

The 2018 World Series of Poker will run from May 29 through July 17 and will again be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. PokerGO and ESPN will exclusively televise live streams from the WSOP, with the full television and streaming schedules to be announced at a later date.

There is no wait for the 2018 WSOP schedule though. In total, 78 gold bracelets will be awarded this summer, through events featuring a wide range of buy-ins. As announced earlier this year, the $1 million buy-in BIG ONE for One Drop returns this year, but the WSOP is, and always will be, headlined by the $10,000 WSOP Main Event.

The Main Event will again feature three starting flights, beginning on July 2, and once play combines for Day 3 on July 7, the tournament will run every day with live coverage on both ESPN and PokerGO.

While the Main Event usually marks the end of the WSOP, this year is different. A dozen events will run after the WSOP Main Event commences, including staple events like the Little One for One Drop and the BIG ONE for One Drop. There are also a handful of new events, including a $50,000 High Roller No Limit Hold’em event, “The Closer” $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event, and a $1,500 Mixed 8-Handed NLH/PLO event.

In all, nine new events have been added for the 2018 WSOP. A $365 PLO Giant replaces a $1,000 NLH event, while the $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty NLH event, replaces the $10,000 Tag Team Championship. Another online event has been added for 2018 as well, with a $565 buy-in and four cards for the WSOP.com ONLINE Pot Limit Omaha event.

The BIG ONE for One Drop concludes the 2018 schedule and runs from July 15-17. The $1 million buy-in event hasn’t run in Las Vegas since 2014, and replaces the $111K High Roller for One Drop, which takes place in odd calendar years.
