Every Friday I have the pleasure of hand-selecting some of my favorite PokerGO content for you to binge-watch, and with the year about to be over I decided to dig into the archives for some Phil Ivey highlights. After years of absence, Ivey made his return to the World Series of Poker and prior to that, he participated in the Super High Roller Bowl to get fans hyped up for what felt like a potential return to the tournament grind.
Sadly enough, however, after the World Series of Poker we didn’t see much of Ivey and while he was spotted in Las Vegas during an epic week of action that included the Five Diamond Classic WPT and Super High Roller Bowl V, he did not get a hold of any tournament chips. So, in honor of the man we all love to watch in action, here are three must-watch event replays featuring Ivey to close out your year with.
In the seventh and final season, before this epic show went on hiatus, Phil Ivey headlined an epic $200,000 minimum buy-in cash game where he went up against David Oppenheim, Eli Elezra, David ‘Viffer’ Peat, Patrik Antonius, and a very young Tom Dwan. Relive this entire show by starting with the first of six episodes, or watch the Director’s Cut in the player below.
Whenever Ivey shows up to the World Series of Poker, all eyes are on him. After a hiatus of multiple years, Ivey returned this year to play a full schedule as well as the Main Event. Ivey’s success in the bracelet events prior to the Main Event was few and far between, his best finish being a ninth place in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship. He did, however, make Day 4 of the Main Event during which he was on the secondary featured table. Watch the action in the player below.
Earlier this month the Super High Roller Cash Game returned with back-to-back epic nights of action from the PokerGO Studio, but have you watched all the action from 2015? Back then, Phil Ivey was featured in a massive $400/$800 game where he clashed in a big one versus Antonio Esfandiari. Watch the highlights from that session in the player below.
