The Champions Club Texas Championship leaderboard is set for the first quarter of 2025, and eight players are now qualified to compete in the season-ending championship event.
In partnership with the PGT and Champions Club Texas, the Champions Club Texas Championship is a $50,000 freeroll with an added Dream Seat into the 2025 PGT $1,000,000 Championship. There will be a leaderboard for each quarter of tournament play at Champions Club Texas, with all events eligible for players to earn points. Each quarter, the top eight players on the leaderboard will automatically qualify for the season-ending Champions Club Texas Championship. If a player qualifies twice, his spot will roll down to the next player for the quarter. The top eight points-earners for the entire year who do not qualify via leaderboard, will qualify for the final eight spots to take the field to at least 40 players.

Players who qualify for the Champions Club Texas Championship will all be guaranteed a payout, with $500 reserved for 40th place. Reaching the final table earns players $1,000, while reaching heads-up play guarantees both players $8,000. The winner will be crowned the Champions Club Texas Player of the Year and receive a Dream Seat to play in the PGT $1,000,000 Championship, which is valued at $20,000.

Kevin "Sunshine" Kendrick has opened his 2025 poker campaign in the best way possible by topping the Champions Club Texas Championship leaderboard. His 337 points came on the back of five tournament victories and more than $30,000 in tournament winnings. His five wins were highlighted by his third Champions Club Series win after he topped the 45-entrant $500 H.O.R.S.E. event at the Winter Poker Open.
Jackson White finished second overall after he secured three wins for more than $25,000 in tournament winnings. Rounding out the top three is Champions Club Texas dealer Caleb Shumard. Shumard had an amazing nine wins during the quarter for more than $37,000 in tournament winnings, with two of those coming at the Winter Poker Open.
Players who fall short of qualifying via the top eight will have the added advantage of being in prime position to qualify via one of the eight non-leaderboard spots at season's end.
2023 PokerGO Cup Event #3 winner Ed Sebesta sits just outside the top eight with 163 points from $26,236 in winnings. Also on the fringe are Mario Mendoza Robles (164 points), Benjamin Harris (146 points), and Zvi Eisenberg (138 points). Notable players Dakota Patsfield, Kris Burchfield, David Shaw, Brian Winter, David Diaz, and Danny Chang are all within striking distance.
