According to tournament updates on WSOP.com, Negreanu was eliminated by Jonathan Depa when the two got the money in on the nine-eight-five flop. There were two diamonds on the flop and Negreanu had queen-eight-seven-two with two diamonds. Depa had ace-nine-eight-six. Non-diamond tens hit the turn and river to eliminate Negreanu.

In Event #52: $2,500 Nine Game Mix, Negreanu advanced to Day 3 and made a run at reaching his first final table of the series. Negreanu was eliminated in 13th place when he was all-in with ace-deuce in an orbit of Limit Hold'em against KT Park who held a dominated king-deuce. In Event #60: $10,000 Short Deck, Negreanu advanced to Day 2 where he was positioned in the middle of the pack. Once the bubble burst, Negreanu found himself all-in holding a flush and straight draw against the trips of eventual winner Shota Nakanishi. The river improved Negreanu to a straight, but it also gave Nakanishi a full house, and Negreanu was eliminated for his sixth WSOP cash of 2022.
