After last night’s table draw, one lineup was quickly circled and dubbed the Feature Table before Day 1 of the Super High Roller Bowl. That lineup featured some of the best High Rollers in the world, including Justin Bonomo, Bryn Kenney and Cary Katz, along with the two players that would headline the action, 14-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth and world-renowned actor and comedian Kevin Hart.
The fans were not disappointed when the PokerGO lives stream began, as that lineup was front and center on the Feature Table. In between posting Instagram stories, shouting out his fans, talking with his world-class competition and getting ready for the biggest moment of his budding poker career, Kevin Hart was in the thick of the action, but one player was missing.
That player was Phil Hellmuth but showing up late is nothing new to The Poker Brat. Hellmuth has made his fair share of grandiose entrances; from dressing as a NASCAR driver, a heavyweight title fighter, a five-star general and Julius Caesar prior to World Series of Poker Main Event appearances throughout the years.
Clearly, Hellmuth knows how to make a lasting impressing on any tournament field he enters and he certainly made an impression in last year’s Super High Roller Bowl. Hellmuth finished 4th for a $1,600,000 score and dominated the telecast, with some energy, some antics and some unorthodox play that made last year’s event must-watch television.
This year, that job belongs to Kevin Hart and so far, so good. Hart has been trading blows and chipping up at the Feature Table and has single-handedly kept the relatively quiet ARIA Ballroom filled with energy. Hart’s one-man-show doesn’t look like it is going to come to an end any time soon but if he needs a supporting act, one is now available.
Phil Hellmuth just arrived and took his seat alongside Kevin Hart at the Feature Table. That means that the biggest event of the year just got bigger and everyone who was salivating after last night’s table draw finally get the Day 1 match up they’ve been looking forward to.
