The Texas PLO Roundup $3,300 Pot-Limit Omaha Main Event continued on Friday at Champions Club in Houston, Texas, featuring a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
After a 15-hour day, Jordan Griff leads 11 surviving players with 897,000 in chips out of a field of 97 entrants on Day 1C. Martin Zamani (810,000), Frederick Carbonneau (651,000), Christopher Hannel (605,000), and Anthony Hu (565,000) round out the top five players to bag in the third of eight flights.
Griff dominated the second half of the day, continually building as the tournament progressed toward the bubble. He was at or near the top of the leaderboard before late registration closed and remained atop the counts at the end of the night, knocking out Michael Wang just before the bubble and adding more to his stack during a two-level bubble.
Other notable players to advance include Sean Troha, Senovio Ramirez, and Arkadi Onikoul.
Some of the players who fell short of advancing included Jonathan Tamayo, Alex Livingston, Josh Arieh, Ben Ludlow, and Matthew Wantman. Ren Lin also fell short of advancing when he was eliminated on the bubble by Hu. Lin found himself short after doubling Kyle Arora once and Zamani twice on the bubble, three of five all-in scenarios that resulted in the shorter stack staying alive. Then, he ran pocket jacks into Hu's pocket aces to finish in 12th place and end the night as the clock struck 3 a.m. local time. The Texas PLO Roundup $3,300 Pot-Limit Omaha Main Event is now up to 191 entrants, with 22 players advancing to Day 2.
