Justin Bonomo has a firm hold of the chip lead after Day 2 of the Super High Roller Bowl with just 14 players remaining, closely followed by U.S. Poker Open Champion Stephen Chidwick, Seth Davies, who was one of the players highlighted during INSIDERS on PokerGO, and defending champion Christoph Vogelsang.
The second day of action in the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl started with 30 players after 18 of the field’s original 48 departed on Day 1. While Daniel Negreanu sat pretty with an enormous stack, the same couldn’t be said for a group of players that included Koray Aldemir, Cary Katz, Arne Ruge, John Andress and Rainer Kempe.
From the group of shortest stacks, it was 2016 champion Rainer Kempe who departed first by the hands of Sam Soverel. The Germans had a rough go at it on Day 2, as Arne Ruge, Koray Aldemir, Markus Durnegger and Fedor Holz were also among the casualties. The latter was eliminated in an enormous pot versus Justin Bonomo when their flushes built one of the biggest pots of the day.

Phil Ivey, making his return to the Super High Roller Bowl for the first time since its inaugural event in 2015, had a day filled with swings before busting to Bryn Kenney. Ivey ended up all in drawing dead on the turn, as Kenney’s full house had the 10-time bracelet winner’s straight crushed.
Cary Katz fell by the hands of Super High Roller Bowl first-timer Kahle Burns, before U.S. Poker Open Main Event winner Keith Tilston shipped his last chips over to Bonomo. Runner-up in the 2017 edition of this event, Jake Schindler, also fell on Day 2, as Spain’s Sergio Aido knocked him out.
As the night went on, Dan Smith, Bryn Kenney, John Andress and Kathy Lehne were also eliminated to bring the field down to 14 players when the clock ran out.
