The inaugural Super High Roller Bowl: $100k Mixed Games continued from the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the 29-entrant field reduced to the final five players. Michael Moncek is the overall chip leader with 2,890,000 in chips.
Moncek entered the day as chip leader, and although he dropped substantially at the midway point of the day, he fought back and finished as the top dog once again. Moncek is in line to win his second PGT title of the season and the accompanying $1,200,000 first-place prize and Super High Roller Bowl championship ring. He will be joined at the final table by Benny Glaser, Yuri Dzivielevski, Chad Eveslage, and Daniel Negreanu.
Before the start of play, four late entrants joined the field to set the inaugural field size at 29 with a prize pool of $2,900,000. The final five players would finish in the money, and although the day started slow, the double knockout of Eric Wasserson and J. David Rogers would start a chain of eliminations. Previous Super High Roller Bowl champion Brian Rast exited in 19th, before Talak Shakerchi, Jason Mercier, Maxx Coleman, and Nick Guagenti were eliminated prior to the final two tables being set.
Johannes Becker, John Hennigan, and Ray Dehkharghani were all eliminated from the feature table, and once Scott Seiver and Albert Daher followed them out the door, the field was soon down to nine. John Racener was the shortest stack and was eliminated in Pot-Limit Omaha before Matthew Ashton exited in a Stud hand when he was all-in on third. The final seven players redrew to one table, and Moncek held the chip lead. Philip Sternheimer was the player who had pushed for this event to the PGT team for over a year, and the fairytale result wouldn't come in the inaugural running as he was eliminated in seventh in a 2-7 Triple Draw hand when Glaser was dealt a pat eight-seven. Nick Schulman's stack had been trending in the wrong direction for the majority of the final table, and he would be eliminated in sixth on the money bubble when his ten-six low was no good against Moncek's straight-six in Razz.
Moncek has started the 2025 PGT season in hot form, amassing 484 PGT points, which includes his PokerGO Cup Event #1 victory. With a Super High Roller Bowl: $100k Mixed Games victory, Moncek can move to third on the PGT leaderboard. Glaser and Dzivielevski are regarded as some of the best-mixed game players in the world, and both are sitting at their second PGT final table of the season. Chad Eveslage had one cash during the recent PGT Mixed Games series and will be looking to win his fifth career PGT title. Negreanu is the short stack among the final five, but he is the most experienced at these stakes, having won Super High Roller Bowl VII for $3,312,000 in October 2022. Negreanu is also looking to win his 11th career PGT title while sitting at his 52nd career PGT final table and logging his 84th career PGT cash.
The final five have locked $225,000 and 68 PGT points, while reaching heads-up play will guarantee the final two players $725,000 and 218 PGT points. The eventual champion of Super High Roller Bowl: $100k Mixed Games will take home the $1,200,000 first-place prize, 400 PGT points, and the Super High Roller Bowl championship ring.
