LAS VEGAS – May 22, 2018 – Poker Central®, the ultimate destination for fans of poker tournaments, cash games, and lifestyle away from the tables, revealed the streaming schedule and broadcast talent for its World Series of Poker (WSOP) coverage, which will stream live on its OTT subscription platform PokerGO from June 2 – July 17.
Long-time poker personality Ali Nejad – best known as the voice of Poker Central’s “Poker After Dark” – will anchor play-by-play duties throughout the bracelet events with guest play-by-play from the voice of the World Series of Poker, ESPN’s Lon McEachern. The team will also be joined by a rotating cast of color commentators, including longtime ESPN color commentator, Norman Chad, with additional names to be announced on an event-by-event basis.
“We’re eager to continue our live coverage of the WSOP on PokerGO for the second year running,” said Sam Simmons, vice president of content at Poker Central. “Our expanded coverage schedule including a wide array of poker variants will give our viewers even more opportunities to follow all the action of the world’s most prestigious tournament series.”
Earlier this year, Poker Central and ESPN released their preliminary live coverage schedule for the WSOP Main Event, which will air from July 2 – July 14. Additionally, ESPN will broadcast the “Big One for One Drop” July 16-17 – a $1,000,000 buy-in tournament that takes place every other year. PokerGO will offer exclusive WSOP Main Event and “Big One for One Drop” coverage that is not broadcast during ESPN windows.
“We’re looking forward to having Poker Central and ESPN tag team coverage for the WSOP again this year,” said Ty Stewart, executive director, WSOP. “Fans can expect stellar storylines and wall-to-wall coverage throughout the event and during the ‘Big One for One Drop.’”
