Justin Zaki Wins Poker Masters Event #3: $10,100 No-Limit Hold'em For $244k
Santhosh Suvarna has won his first WSOP bracelet after winning Event #12: €50,000 No-Limit Hold'em Diamond High Roller at WSOP Europe. Suvarna emerged victorious over the 34-entrant field to win the €650,000 first-place prize after defeating Ren Lin heads-up at a final table that included Event #8 winner Daniel Dvoress and PGT leaderboard third-ranked player Chris Brewer.
Suvarna now eclipses $6.4 million in live lifetime tournament earnings and sits second on India's All-Time Money List behind Vivek Rajkumar. Before winning his first WSOP bracelet, Suvarna's biggest poker accolades include winning a Triton Poker Series title at Cypurs in May and finishing third for more than $1.7 million in the Triton Poker Series Monte Carlo Main Event in October.
The 2023 WSOP Europe returned to King's Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, for a 15-event schedule from October 25 to November 15. Early WSOP bracelet winners include defending WSOP Europe Main Event champions Omar Eljach, Tobias Peters, and Dvoress, who won the €25,000 GGMillion€ for his second WSOP bracelet. The biggest buy-in event on the WSOP Europe schedule would be Event #12: €50,000 No-Limit Hold'em Diamond High Roller, and it attracted 34 entrants and created a prize pool of €1,739,925 that paid the final six places.
Lin held the chip lead at the start of the nine-handed final table ahead of Suvarna, who would score a double knockout of Emil Bise and Quan Zhou when he made a runner-runner flush with ace-king. Felipe Ramos would be the bubble boy when his ace-deuce suited could not improve against the pocket jacks of Dvoress to leave the final six players in the money. Martin Kabrhel exited in sixth when he made an inferior two pair against both Suvarna and Lin. Ioannis Angelou-Konstas exited next when he jack-eight suited went down to Suvarna's ace-six.
Brewer exited next when he was all-in with jack-seven against the queen-three of Dvoress. The Canadian flopped a three, and when Brewer bricked his straight and pair draws, he exited in fourth place. Chips circled between the final three before Dvoress called all-in on the river with two pair. Lin tabled rivered trips, and Dvoress fell short of winning back-to-back WSOP bracelets. Suvarna held a slight lead over Lin at the beginning of heads-up play and immediately surged ahead after winning a big pot when Lin triple-barrelled his nine-high. Down to his last six big blinds, Lin was all-in with jack-deuce against Suvarna's king-six. The board blanked out, and Suvarna's king-high ensured him of his first WSOP bracelet and the €650,000 first-place prize.
