Daniel Negreanu and Seth Davies Enter Top 3 on PGT Leaderboard
After a huge day of action during which three players won first-time WSOP bracelets, there were four tournaments where no gold was handed out quite yet. Let’s round up all the other action from the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.
TU DAO LEADING THE LADIES EVENT
Just six players remain from 968 entries in the Ladies NLHE Championship. Tu Dao stacked up a total of 5,420,000 chips, good for a marginal lead over Jiyoung Kim (5,100,000) and Nancy Matson (4,530,000) as the final day approaches.
With Lyly Vo (1,700,000), Lexy Gavin (1,430,000), and Sandrine Phan (1,185,000) all short-stacked at the start of play, there’s a very even divide and ICM may have an impact on how the action plays out, with the chip leaders all certain to be applying pressure to those at the bottom of the leaderboard. The $27,643 sixth-place prize may be guaranteed, but the top prize of $167,308 is still very much up for grabs, along with the WSOP bracelet, of course.

PLENTY IN THE HUNDT FOR MONSTER STACK GLORY
After a second humungous day at the Monster Stack felt, Day 1b saw the total field of 6,035 trimmed to the extent that 2,902 players will return on Day 2. Of the Day 1b players, James Hundt (466,600) ended the chip leader, with Kapila Garner very close behind with 464,100 chips. Sean Yu (221,400), Maurice Hawkins (189,900) and Taylor Paur (162,000) also bagged up at the end of the day, and they were joined in the Day 2 seat draw by Nika Futterman (158,000), Eric Baldwin (122,800) and former WSOP Main Event Greg Raymer (48,400).
THREE BRACELET HOLDERS BIN TO DOUBLE THEIR TALLY IN $2,500 MIX
Just a dozen players remain from the 401 in the $2,500-entry Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better event. Top of the chipcounts after the journey so far is Michael Thompson, who has 923,000 chips to his name, more than Daniel Radigan (899,000) and Philip Long (813,000). Long is one of three players going for their second WSOP bracelet with Andrey Zaichenko (424,000) and Dan Zack (214,000) still in the hunt. Zack has a real chance of gaining the upper hand in the WSOP Player of the Year race, with Shaun Deeb busting during the day and Upeshka De Silva not involved.
NEGREANU, LAPLANTE AND LAMB ALL CHASE PLO VICTORY
In the $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha Championship, 253 players remain from the 494 entries so far, with some of the most successful poker players at this level still very much involved and others able to register until the end of the tenth level which will be on Sunday afternoon,
Top of the counts so far are Yi Li (572,000), Mohsin Virani (401,000) and Timothy Batow (358,700) who are the top three stacks. They’re followed by WSOP legend Ben Lamb, who won the corresponding event eight years ago, and who has 343,700 chips. Others, such as Sasha Liu (242,300), Ryan Laplante (206,000), Daniel Negreanu (195,000), Phil Galfond (147,600), Robert Mizrachi (126,500), and Sam Soverel (66,000) are all looking at this tournament as one to run deep in.
